My Top 3 Disney World Snacks

Welcome back, MCT crew!

I hope everyone is doing well and feeling good! I know things are tough right now, but keep holding on, we’re going to make it through.

You know what gets me through these tough times? Thinking about my next Disney trip! Sometimes when things in your present are difficult, you have to remind yourself of the all the good that lies ahead. So plan and dream and get ready for a wonderful future! “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow…”

One of my favorite things to think about when it comes to Disney World is all the good food that they have there. Of course, snacks are a high priority for me because of my chronic illness. Not only do I have to keep my strength up with nourishment and hydration, I have to make sure I always have something in my belly or at least a snack on my person in case I need to take pain medication.

Maybe in your case, you have to do the same, or at least something similar. Or maybe you just like to snack. Either way, we are in this together! I love snacking, and my snacking serves a grander purpose, as well.

Here are my top 3 Disney World snacks:

  1. Popcorn: Gotta love the popcorn. It’s salty, it’s buttery, and they sell it all over the park. The last time I got popcorn from Disney, I got it from Magic Kingdom in Future World. Now, you have an option to get either a bag (a medium-sized bag like you would find at a theater) or a jumbo container that you can refill for a price. If you get the medium-sized paper bag, you have to hold onto it, but it is cheaper. The tub is more expensive, but it comes with a strap to clip onto your bag. My advice? Unless you are really adamant about the popcorn, get the medium-sized bag. It ended up being enough for me and my friend to share. Pro-tip: if you have a shopping bag, you can keep your bag of popcorn in there while you walk around so you don’t have to carry it all over.
  2. Napoleon: Ahh, the sweet treat! A napoleon is a flaky, creamy, French dessert that is coated with vanilla frosting and a chocolate design. You can pick this bad girl up in Epcot in the French pavilion, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. What I love about this dessert so much is its versatility. It’s light, but it also fills you up. It can be for any meal you want. And it is on the cheaper side, too. Plus, you can box it up if you can’t finish it all in one setting.
  3. Minute Maid Frozen Raspberry Lemonade Slushy: Cool. Refreshing. Delicious. What more could you want? I first tried this during my first solo-trip to Disney World in 2019 (more details about that trip to come later). It was the first night of my trip, and I went to Disney Springs to wander around after my dinner at Cookes of Dublin. I stumbled upon one of the many snack kiosks at Disney Springs, and I found this little delight. It came with a paper straw in a normal sized cup, and I was able to enjoy it during the live evening musical performances. Sitting there in Disney Springs, listening to incredible artists, drinking this cool beverage, made me feel like I was on top of the world. Disclaimer: when I had this snack, I had just finished a filling dinner, so I was good to go. I wouldn’t use this as your only snack if you want to be full for a while.

This is part one of my snack list, but I want to write another article later on about more snacks I recommend. Make sure to let me know which snacks you love in the comments!
