‘My Solo Travels’ Series: Part 6-The Hotel

Hello, and welcome (or welcome back)!

I hope everyone is doing well and feeling safe, healthy, and happy 🙂

On this week’s blog, we are going to dive into ‘My Solo Travels’ Series: Part 6–The Hotel.

Choosing a Disney hotel involves a lot of different variables: how many people are you staying with? what is your budget? what are your vacation goals?

For this trip, my 2 biggest factors were price and accessibility to the parks. I wanted something on Disney property that had transportation to the different theme parks and was also affordable. This lead me to choose Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort!

Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort is one of the onsite value resorts that Disney offers. Here are my takeaways after staying there for my solo trip:

  • I enjoyed my stay at this resort. The room was clean, it had enough space for me, and i had a great poolside view.
  • Keep in mind that this is a value resort. You get what you pay for! It’s basic, not a lot of frills, but it serves its purpose well.
  • All of the All Star resorts tend to stay busy. Especially during the summer. I have met Girl Scout Troops, School Groups, Camps, and a variety of families while on my solo trip. And personally, I liked it; since I was by myself, it felt like I was surrounded by family. Keep in mind though, if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful experience, this is not the resort for you.
  • The food is good. Mind you, that the cafeteria-like food accommodations resemble that of the theme park kiosks, but it is still good and it has a plentiful variety. Plus, they provide takeout containers so that you can bring the food back to your room!
  • The transportation from the hotel to the parks works well. There is a bus station set-up in front of each resort hotel. The buses go around the area hotels and then take you to your desired destination. There is a bus for each theme park, water park, etc. I thought that the bus system worked nicely, plus it is a great way to chat with your fellow resort residents.

I had a great time at the All Star Movie Resort! Let me know if you stayed at a value resort at Disney, and what your experience was!

Until next time….

Stay safe and stay magical!
