Disney World Park Spotlight: Disney Springs

Hello, and welcome (or welcome back)!

I hope everyone is doing well and feeling safe, healthy, and happy :).

This week continues the Park Spotlight series, where I spotlight 5 areas of Disney World in Florida and tell you my favorite things about them. I have been to Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom, but I have yet to venture to Hollywood Studios (I do plan on going very soon…). For ‘Hollywood Studios’ week, I will detail what I am looking most forward to about that park.

Let’s dive in!

Ah, Disney Springs. So modern, so timeless, so necessary. At Disney Springs, you can still feel the Disney magic without the cost of an admissions ticket. The park, formerly known as Downtown Disney, has abundance of shopping, food, and entertainment options.

Food: Go to Boathouse. That’s it. That’s the blog :). Seriously though, if you get opportunity, treat yourself to a beautiful seafood dinner on the water. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the views were amazing. Pro-tip: if you don’t get a table by the window, make sure to speak up! Fair warning, the prices are steep at this restaurant.

If you are looking for a more affordable option for your lunchtime or evening meal, I strongly suggest going to The Cookes of Dublin. Great pub-like food in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Coincidentally, I sat by the window at this establishment as well, and the views were enjoyable also.

Shopping: If you are looking to do some shopping during your trip, I would suggest taking your time going through all the stores that Disney Springs has to offer. There are some Disney-specific stores, but there are also a fair amount of everyday stores to browse through. To me, Disney Springs is akin to going to a high-end outlet mall.

Nighttime Entertainment: While Disney Springs does offer bowling, NBA, and movie theater amenities, my favorite entertainment aspect was watching the free outdoor concert. When things “go back to normal” I strongly suggest taking the time to look up the concert schedule at Disney Springs, grabbing a lemonade slushy, and enjoying the evening outside with some good music.

My recommendation: I think a lot of people are so focused on having the best time possible at the theme parks, that they forget about taking full advantage of Disney Springs. Make sure you schedule time to just walk around Disney Springs. Grab a bite to eat. Relax with some shopping. Listen to a local artist in the amphitheater. Soak in the calmness that Disney Springs offers.

That is my take on Disney Springs! Make sure to check back next week for my deep dive into Magic Kingdom!

Until next time….

Stay safe and stay magical!

Ashley, MCT
