Health Tips and Tricks for Before, During, and After Your Trip!

Hello, and welcome (or welcome back)!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone is doing well and feeling safe, healthy, and happy :).

This week, I am going to circle back to the Chronic Illness side of this blog to talk about different tips and tricks you can use for before, during, and after your trip to Disney World. Now, I can only speak from my experience, but I think you’ll be able find something of use no matter what your situation is. Ps: I’m not a medical professional—I am just someone who has been down this road a few times ☺️

Before your trip: 1) Make sure you have all your medicinal items ready to go, ESPECIALLY your prescription medication; it might be tough to find the things you need on your vacation. 2) Get plenty of rest; feeling well rested going into your trip will give you a better experience overall. 3) If you are going alone, make sure you tell your close friends and family where you will be staying and how long you will be gone.

During your trip: 1) Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Make sure that you are constantly drinking water and other beverages throughout the day; dehydration will drag you down quicker than you think. 2) Take breaks out of the sun often. Disney World in Orlando, Florida can get very hot. Make sure to spend sometime in the shade and inside during your visit. 3) Break up your day at the parks, if possible. Disney will let you come and go to the parks as you please on the date your ticket is valid. Don’t hesitate to go back to your hotel for a siesta midday, and come back to the parks in the evening.

After your trip: 1) Take the time to journal about your trip. Write those memories down while they are fresh in your mind. 2) Rest. Again. A big trip outside in the sun can take a toll on your body, so be sure to recuperate however you need to.

Those are some of my tips and tricks for taking care of your body before, during, and after your trip to Disney. Please feel free to adjust my advice to suit your needs. Remember, your health always comes first!!

Until next time….

Stay safe and stay magical!
