Hello, and welcome (or welcome back)!
I hope everyone is doing well and feeling safe, healthy, and happy :).
As you can already tell from the title, today I am going to talk about why I’m ready to travel! I wanted to explain to you how I got to the point of being okay with traveling again. I would like to make the planning of my future trips a regular series, so stay tuned!
Traveling in today’s world (especially as a person with a chronic illness) is challenging. The pandemic put the world on its head and has made me change some of the ways I conduct myself in public. For example, I think I will continue to stay at least 6ft away from people in public settings and wear masks in crowds. I think these practices are now permanently engrained in my brain. Knowing all of this made me realize that I am ready to travel.
Here are a few more ways I realized I am ready to travel:
1. I am fully vaccinated. I have been fully vaccinated since March. After consulting the CDC website, I have found that fully vaccinated individuals are given the go ahead to travel within the United States. Having this added layer of protection makes me feel a lot better about traveling. Truthfully, I don’t think I would travel at all this year if I wasn’t vaccinated.
2. I have consulted with my doctor. My health is of the utmost importance to me. I have had a few serious health struggles these past couple of months, and before I went ahead with booking my trip, I wanted to make sure I was good to go. I spoke to my doctor, and he assured me that it was okay to continue with my usual routine. If you are looking to travel with a chronic illness, make sure you speak to your medical professional first.
3. I am ready to relax and have fun! I think we all can attest to the fact that last year and this year was/is really difficult. We have followed the rules and have done everything we can to stay as safe as possible. I feel like I am ready to go forward with life and continue on as I have done before. Plus, planning Disney vacations is very relaxing for me 😄
So these are the reasons why I feel like I am ready to travel! I am not a medical professional, and my reasons for traveling are for me and me alone. You need to make the decisions about your health that are best for you.
Thank you for reading!
Until next time….
Stay safe and stay magical!
